Tis the Season!

Happy holidays!

Tis the season for friends, family, love, food, and of course, fun holiday shows!  This is a time to sit back and be grateful for everything we have, and to another year of love and adventures.  I feel like pretty much everyone loves this time of year (aside from pre-ghosts Scrooge), as it’s a special time for all of us.  So before I sit back and enjoy the holidays with my family, I just want to talk a bit about Zoe Writes Theatre, and the adventures that I’ve had with it over the past couple of years.

I started Zoe Writes Theatre two years ago (December 17, 2022), with a holiday show.  I talked about my own experience with A Christmas Carol, and of course, A Christmas Carol Comedy at Hedgerow Theatre.  I had very little idea of what I was doing with my blog.  The whole thing was a bit daunting and scary, and I really had no idea if anyone would even read it aside from my mother (she’s still my biggest supporter, of course).  But this post got more attention than I had ever anticipated.  I ended up on multiple Hedgerow Facebook pages, with multiple comments from all sorts of people, including the playwright.  It was a nice start to what I wanted to do with my blog.

Since December 17, 2022, I have written almost 100 posts.  I have interviewed 17 artists from various theatres all over the area.  I have written opinion posts, factual posts, and everything in between.  I have been featured on Hedgerow Facebook pages and The Wilma’s emails and website.  Zoe Writes Theatre was a side project that became my baby, and something I am immensely proud of.

Going into the new year, I have a lot of ideas for Zoe Writes Theatre.  As I expand and continue to write posts about the theatre world, my life in the theatre world, conduct interviews, and everything else I do on my dinky little blog (that isn’t quite so dinky any longer!), I hope that I continue to grow and continue to make something of myself.  I’ve worked extremely hard to make something of this blog, and honestly, I’ve accomplished more than I ever thought I would.  I’ve discovered that people really care about theatre and really care about me.  I’m not sure I ever imagined I’d end up where I am.

I truly have a lot of love for Zoe Writes Theatre.  I’m so proud of the little blog that could.  I’ve shared the link with my friends, with Facebook, with theatre websites, with my customers at work, and probably a bunch of other people that I can’t even think of right now.  Every time I get someone to agree to an interview, I get excited.  Sitting down to write posts can be frustrating sometimes, but I always get there.  I plan for this blog to keep going, and to keep making waves.  I can only keep going further from here!

So truly, thank you to everyone who has supported my blog and supported me.  I couldn’t have done any of this without you guys, and even the people who have just clicked onto it from a theatre’s website and read a post about a show.  I couldn’t have done this without my mother, who reads every post before it goes up (though my wife has also done this a couple times).  This little blog that could is only going to grow.

I absolutely can’t wait to see what the new year brings for me and for Zoe Writes Theatre.  I am so proud of everything I’ve accomplished so far, and especially for myself.  I’ve broken every goal and accomplishment I’ve set for myself, and truly made something with the goal I set from the start…to spread my love of theatre in every way, shape and form.  In the end, that’s what Zoe Writes Theatre is all about…love of theatre.  And I want to share it with the world.

Here we go into the new year!  Happy holidays to everyone!
